Eagle Scout Launches
Walking Tour in Dedham Square Tim Lesinski has planned to unveil his
Eagle Project on Saturday, December 2nd in Dedham Square. Tim's project
was to design and implement a historic walk, ride and kid's tour
from Dedham Square through the surrounding neighborhoods.
"I was inspired by the Dedham Square Circle's '101 Projects
to Improve Dedham Square'," shared Tim, "The walking tour
was the kind of community-based project I was hoping to find for
my Eagle Scout project."
Tim and his troop mates helped create the The
Dedham Square Walking Tour and crafted maps which will be eventually
available to the general public. The tour is about a mile and a
half, beginning and ending in Dedham Square. The Dedham Square
Bike Tour is a separate map that will be available at the Dedham
Bike & Leather Shop. Tim also
helped design The Dedham Square Children's Tour featuring an "Eye
Spy" around Dedham with pictures of sites to be found. Answers
will be at the Blue Bunny.
Peter H. Reynolds, president of The Dedham Square
Circle, said, "This
is a wonderful project that is yet another huge step forward in celebrating
our historic square. It is a special project to me as I also earned
my Eagle Scout which helped me enormously in life. I hope Tim's excellent
community service project will inspire more young people to join
the scouting program. It's all about moving the community forward."
Tim and his fellow scouts will be launching the tour at 2:30 p.m.
starting at the Dedham Historical Society. Adults and children are
welcome to join the troop for the inaugeral walk.
